Is MLM right for you as a home based business? MLM is multi level marketing also known as network marketing. This type of business has been around for years and is a fabulous way to generate extra income or have it as your career.

Many folks have achieved six-figure incomes and raised themselves from “just getting by” in life to being very wealthy with MLM. Why doesn’t everyone work this type of business then?

Network marketing has a bad reputation. The first thing many folks think when they hear network marketing or MLM is a Pyramid scheme. They have heard the stories therefore it must be true.

It’s not hard to tell how this business has gotten a bad rap. Just look on the internet at the Google ads “Make 10,000 in one week” and the ad will go on to imply by doing nothing! These folks are idiots and give the business an bad rap!

• Pressure to “get in now” or lose the opportunity of a lifetime
• An obnoxious, in your face recruiting approach

First off, forget about the idiots and tacky recruiting tactics behind you. Realize that MLM is really a legitimate business when approached in a professional manner. Let’s examine whether MLM might be right for you.

There are two things you need to do.

First, choose a solid opportunity with a good track record, proven product and a successful upline that has the ability to train you using your abilities to succeed. This will take time and effort so don’t get frustrated and stat jumping around looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. You will never find it!

Second, get started with your upline to build a plan for success. They should have been able to explain how a plan would work and make you feel comfortable before you ever joined with them.

Remember, there will be challenges and obstacles along the way. You can and will work through them. Starting your own business has difficulties just like anything else.

When you start a new job it takes a year before you are extremely proficient. Remember your first day? Everything was difficult. You had to ask where the restroom was to go there, you do not know where to file things, and every task took a question.
